Dr. Bob Berk

Dr. Bob Berk is the founder and principal consultant for New Table Consulting, a group dedicated to building capacity in individuals and organizations. Bob is particularly passionate about fostering high-performing teams, improving communication, and resolving conflict. He specializes in working with executives and employee teams across the for-profit, non-profit, and education sectors.

While all of New Table Consulting’s services are tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, Bob is especially focused on:

  • Conflict resolution through mediation, facilitative dialogues, and restorative conversations.
  • Coaching individuals and teams, with a particular emphasis on leadership dyads.
  • Training on topics such as trust, high-performing teams, feedback, and leadership development.

Bob is a well-regarded presenter and speaker. His engaging and respectful style allows him to connect effectively with audiences of all generations and seniority levels.

Career History

After earning his degree in biology from the University of California – San Diego, Bob began his career teaching students with emotional and behavioral challenges in the Cincinnati area. This work inspired Bob to return to graduate school, where he earned a Master’s in Secondary School Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati and a PhD in Leadership and Policy Studies from Vanderbilt University.

Over the next two decades, Bob served as a school leader in both independent and public schools. His last position in education was as the founding Head of School at Cypress Academy in New Orleans, a model child-centered school that embraced diverse learning styles and needs.

After transitioning out of the school setting, Bob began working with individuals and organizations to address a wide range of challenges. He has provided training and learning opportunities for numerous sectors, including educational, legal, biotech, medical, non-profit, religious, and camp industries.

Whether working with C-suite executives or entry-level employees, Bob is committed to helping clients find a path forward. He is especially sought after for his expertise in conflict resolution, guiding individuals and teams through seemingly unmovable challenges to create solutions that inspire progress and success.

Bob is the co-author of Blue Trail Breakthrough, a leadership fable set in a fictional camp that explores the intricate process of building high-performing teams. This compelling narrative introduces the Triangle Model, a framework that helps teams:
