Dr. Bob Berk
Dr. Bob Berk is the founder of New Table Consulting, a group that focuses on building capacity in individuals and organizations. Bob focuses his work at New Table Consulting on helping individuals and organizations build their capacity. He is particularly interested in the work of high performing teams, communication, and conflict resolution. Bob specializes in working with executives and employee teams in both the for profit and non-profit sectors. While all of New Table Consulting’s services are tailored for the individual client, Bob is most passionate about working in the following areas:
- Conflict resolution through mediation, facilitative dialogues and/or restorative conversations.
- Coaching individuals and teams.
- Training services around the following topics: trust, high performing teams, feedback, leadership
Career History
After earning his degree in biology from University of California – San Diego, Bob began teaching students with emotional and behavior struggles in the Cincinnati area. This work led to Bob’s return to graduate school where he earned a Master’s in Secondary School Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, followed by a PhD in Leadership and Policy Studies from Vanderbilt University. Over the next two decades, Bob worked as a school leader in both independent and public schools. His last position as a school leader was as the founding Head of School at Cypress Academy in New Orleans – a school that exemplified the best educational practices of a child-centered school, inclusive of a variety of learning styles and needs.
After moving out of the school building, Bob transitioned into working with individuals and organizations. He has provided training and learning opportunities for countless organizations, including those in the educational, legal, biotech, medical, non-profit, religious, and camp worlds. Bob is just as comfortable working with C-suite executives as he is with entry-level employees. Bob has also become sought after for his work in the conflict resolution space and has helped many individuals and teams find a path forward after seemingly unmovable conflict has gotten in the way.
