For teachers and school leaders
Chances are you are reading this because one of the parents at your school has engaged us to help them advocate for their child's needs. A few things to know:
- We're not attorneys. We're educators.
- The fact that a parent at your school has engaged us to help just means that the parent needs a little support in getting to a place of feeling comfortable. Chances are that their discomfort has more to do with navigating an unfamiliar system than it does with anything you have done. Most of our clients love their teachers and schools - that is why they have chosen to be there.
- We do have our own way of doing things - this means that we might make some suggestions about process during our time together. We hope you will take them in the spirit that they are meant - a spirit of collaboration. Our suggestions are meant to lead to conversation informed by data. Hopefully, these conversations will allow us to get to a place of mutual comfort.
- Some teachers and school leaders have asked if we ever work for the school. The quick answer is yes - sometimes schools hire us to act as a neutral party to help the team - parents included - get to a better place. We're happy to fulfill this role if all parties agree to working with us. Schools are also welcome to hire us to consult on other projects. Feel free to call for more information.
